Jerome Gambit: Game Over

I have expressed it a number of ways, but the fact is that White wins in the Jerome Gambit only if he receives some help from his opponent (or his opponent's clock).

The first player goes ahead, making strong, thematic moves - until something in the defense cracks.

If it doesn't?

Then it's "Game Over" for White.

White has 3 pawns for a piece (and a beautiful pawn center), but Stockfish 16.1 is not impressed, seeing Black (30 ply) as almost 3 pawns better.

The computer's suggestion of 17.Bxe5 Rxe5 18.0-0-0 is a bit stronger.

When Black's last piece is developed, it is definitely "Game Over" for me.

(Fortunately, the top 3 players of each group of 5 will advance to the next round of the "Italian Game" tournament, so even if I lose my final 2 games, there will still be a Round 3 for me.)
